2,000 Heathrow Rewards points for your first Rocketmiles booking

Heathrow Rewards and Rocketmiles have launched another interesting promotion for first-time users. Until 31 May 2018, you will earn 2,000 bonus Heathrow Rewards points on your first booking.

In addition to the 2,000 bonus points, you will earn the regular 500 - 10,000 points per night. There is no minimum spend.

This is a very attractive offer. At the very least, the 2,000 bonus points are worth:

• £20 in Heathrow shopping vouchers 
• £40 in Heathrow parking vouchers  
• 2,000 Avios, Virgin, Lufthansa, Emirates, Royal Brunei or Singapore miles. 

In reality, we should be able to do even better here. In the past, Heathrow Rewards offered a 100% transfer bonus, making the 2,000 bonus points worth 4,000 airlines miles. We also saw a 100% bonus on conversions into Heathrow shopping vouchers last year. If this is repeated, the 2,000 points would be worth £40.

If you manage to book a very cheap one-night stay around the £50 mark, you will be doing very well here as you would instantly earn back £40 worth of Heathrow parking vouchers. That's an 80% rebate on your room rate!

The downside of booking via Rocketmiles, of course, is that you won't receive any points in the hotel's own loyalty scheme and you are unlikely to receive any status benefits. It's thus best to use these third-party sites for non-chain properties.

According to the Heathrow Rewards webpage, this offer runs until 31 May. The dedicated booking page however states the offer is valid for bookings made by 30 June. I'd book by 31 May to be on the safe side here.
