A couple of weeks ago, reports started circulating that Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) was offering a status match to its EuroBonus frequent flyer scheme. See this Flyeralk thread for example.
The requirements seemed simple. If you emailed gold.dk@sas.dk with evidence of your existing status with British Airways, Air France/KLM, Miles & More, or Finnair Plus, then you stood a fair chance that SAS would match your status. They even handed out Star Alliance Gold this way.
That gravy train has now passed. I tried to get my BA Gold status matched to EuroBonus. Here's the response, confirming that the offer has been pulled:
