Up to 30% off Choice points--and why this can be lucrative!

Last week, I wrote about how to bag 1,000 free points simply for signing up to Choice Privileges via a little known link: 1,000 bonus points for joining Choice Privileges.

1,000 points won't get you far of course but you may find some use for them when topping up your account via the current purchase points promotion. Until 19 April, you will save up to 30% when buying points.

The rebate you receive depends on the amount of points you purchase:

  • 10% off when buying 5,000 to 14,000 points
  • 15% off when buying 15,000 to 29,000 points
  • 25% off when buying 30,000 to 39,000 points
  • 30% off when buying 40,000 to 50,000 points.
You can purchase up to 50,000 points each year.

Purchasing points can be lucrative when redeeming in expensive cities. For example, a room at The Thief (Oslo, Norway) typically costs around the £290 mark:

But we only require 20,000 points for an award stay including breakfast:

We've got 1,000 points free from the Choice Privileges sign-up offer, and we can currently purchase the remaining 19,000 points with a 15% rebate--for a mere $159.89 (roughly £112). Now that's a deal.

Remember that Choice Privileges only make award rooms bookable 30 days in advance...
