YEAH!!: Accor now offers free breakfast to Platinum members (in Asia Pacific only)

Le Club Accorhotels, the loyalty scheme for the likes of Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis and others,  is finally offering free breakfast to its members.

But here's the catch. This benefit only applies in the Asia Pacific.
I've contacted Accorhotels on Twitter to find out whether this will eventually be offered in other regions, too, and will keep you posted:

Complimentary Breakfast at Accorhotels: the Details

Platinum members plus one registered guest will be offered complimentary breakfast in the Asia-Pacific region. Hotels with an Executive Lounge will offer free breakfast in the lounge. Hotels without an Executive Lounge will offer complimentary breakfast in the restaurant:

"HOTELS IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION WITH AN EXECUTIVE LOUNGE OFFER BREAKFASTS TO PLATINUM MEMBERS IN THE EXECUTIVE LOUNGE, SUBJECT TO HOTEL’S LOUNGE CONDITIONS AND HOURS OF OPERATION AT TIME OF STAY. FOR THE FOLLOWING HOTELS IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION WITHOUT AN EXECUTIVE LOUNGE, BREAKFAST WILL BE OFFERED TO LE CLUB ACCORHOTELS PLATINUM MEMBERS (AND REGISTERED GUESTS STAYING IN SAME ROOM) AT THE HOTEL’S RESTAURANT, SUBJECT TO RESTAURANT’ CONDITIONS AND HOURS OF OPERATION AT TIME OF STAY."

Which hotels have lounges and which don't? This dedicated Accor webpage will tell you the answer.

A Genuine Enhancement?

Undoubtedly so, yes! But let's not forget that competitors like Hilton and Marriott for example offer free breakfast not only across the world; but also to mid-tier and top-tier members. Will Accor follow? Let's hope so.

  1. Yep, let's hope free breakfast will be a standard plat benefit soon. Don't understandy why they would restrict it. Accor are really annoying in that regard. I often miss out on bonus points because of their silly booking windows... Why make things so complicated for your loyal plat members?
